Asbis adds Avira to portfolio

Asbis Africa, a leading multinational distributor of IT products, has signed an agreement to distribute the Avira range of security software into South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa as from 1 March 2012. The company has partnered with Intact Security, dedicated local distributor of Avira, in order to further the brand’s reach through Asbis’ extensive reseller network.

A leader in its field, Asbis combines a broad geographical reach with a wide range of products to provide its customers with a “one-stop-shop” solution. The company’s product portfolio encompasses a wide range of IT components, blocks and peripherals, in addition to mobile IT systems, and the addition of Avira to this broad portfolio serves to strengthen its commitment to providing comprehensive product availability.

“The Avira brand is a welcome addition to our range, allowing us to offer our client base a complete solution,” says Elsie Woods, Product Manager at Asbis. “We pride ourselves on offering the best solutions to our customers, and this partnership will only enhance our existing offering.“Now, in addition to purchasing computing components, our customers will be able to obtain the vital protection necessary to keep their computers malware and virus free.”

She adds that in keeping with Asbis ’focus on quality and on specialised support and technical competence, this agreement will enable our staff to become Avira product specialists. “We believe that a concentration on selected products allows us to give better attention to these. This allows us to focus on becoming experts on all aspects of a product, so as better to provide our well-known brand of unmatched pre- and post-sales support.”

Du Preez van Wyk, a Director at Intact Security, says that the partnership will allow Asbis to leverage our expertise in order to provide an extremely strong offering. “Both organisations are passionate about ensuring the highest level of product quality and support. As a valued partner, we will ensure that Asbis has access to our full support team as well as all product information and training in order to ensure that Avira delivers the outstanding end-user experience Asbis customers have become accustomed to.
